My latest violin, coming right along . . .My goal was to build three this year, and I'm on track to begin the third in Sept. . .

Grant awarded

Clifftop was big fun -- plenty of tunes and old friends. It's a beautiful thing when you can doze off to sleep in a tent on a clear cool night with your favorite old-time tunes being played all around you.

And I arrived home to some great news: full funding for a state arts grant ! Chris Segura (of Feufollet fame) approached me many months ago about learning to build a violin with me, and together we applied for a folklife apprenticeship grant to see if we might receive funding for the project. Despite the threat of major budget cuts in the arts, our grant made it through ! Good stuff.
